STATIC VAr GENERATOR (SVG)

WHAT IS STATIC VAr GENERATOR (SVG)?

An Static Var Generator is a power electronics-based device connected in parallel with the load that requires harmonics mitigation. When the load generates inductive or capacitive current, it makes load current lagging or leading the voltage. The device is a controlled current source which provides a current waveform in real time.

Compared to traditional SVC technology, the SVG offers faster response, stronger flicker restrain capability, lower harmonic content and a wider range of operation.

NIPPEN'S STATIC VAR GENERATOR(SVG) HAS MANY COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES AND FEATURES:
  • STEP-LESS compensation without overcompensation and under-compensation compensate specific capacity that system need.
  • PFC performance 0.99
  • Full PFC process within 15 ms and maintain at pfo.99 no matter how the system reactive power changes.
  • Compensation with inductive reactive power and capacity reactive power.
  • The voltage of the grid has little influence on SVG compensation capacity as SVG is like a current source.
  • Could work under high THDu up to 15% no capacitor explosion risk and no safety accident.
  • Minimal loss, maintenance-free and no need to replace cap bank every certain time.
  • Advanced technology and easy to use with HIMI monitor.
  • Minimal footprint to save more than 70% space compared with cap bank.
