What is earth testers?
Earth Resistance testers are used for measuring of earth electrode resistance, soil resistance, earth continuity, neutral and earth loop resistance, resistance of various components etc.
Grounding systems are actually different to conventional installations - whereas a normal electrical installation will have a ground wire built in to direct the flow of current, grounding systems only have current flow when there is a problem. Grounding systems create a path for current to flow, but during a problem, current can range from a couple of mA of unwanted static charge to induced voltages or fault currents of several thousand amps. Current flowing to ground through a grounding system is not constrained to follow any given path to earth as current would in a normal circuit.
USEFUL FOR:
railways, defence, electricity boards, power generating plants, geological surveyors, industries, etc
Four terminal measurement systems avoids errors due to spikes and testing wires resistance .
TYPES OF EARTH TESTER:
The types of earth testers are clamp-on ammeters or clamp meters, leakage current clamp meters, ESD meters (Electrostatic Discharge Meter), 3-terminal and 4-terminal ground resistance meters, and soil PH meters.POWER SOURCE:
Models SET/DET/TET are provided with hand operated AC generator having delrin moulded gears, self lubricating sintered bearings, stainless steel collapsible handle with handle knob and housed in polycarbonate casing.
